Conservation Success Story!! In the year 2020 not a single rhino in Kenya lost its horn or it’s life due to poaching—a triumph that hasn’t occurred since 1999! South Africa (which is home to about 80% of the world’s rhinos) also reported a decrease in annual number of poaching incidents for the 6th year in a row, and a 60% decrease since 2017.

With so much of the world’s biodiversity currently threatened with extinction it is important to not lose hope and celebrate the wins of wildlife conservation, such as this one. We must continue to fight and advocate for the survival of species, such as the rhino, since they have no voice to speak up for themselves. Every little bit helps, whether thats donating a few dollars to a conservation organization or helping to educate others on the plight of threatened animals. The triumphs made in 2020 for rhinos show that hard work pays off and we can continue to make strides towards saving species if we all work together!

@helpingrhinos is one of the many great organizations fighting to stop poaching and save rhinos, donate at helpingrhinos.org to make your contribution to the cause!
